Valentine’s Day Stories
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Even thought it can be a sappy holiday, it’s always nice to put more love out into the world! Not wanting to embarrass any of my middle school students, we don’t create valentines or send out cards. I am also not the biggest fan of arts and crafts projects, so we don’t do a lot of that in my class either. However, I do love silly stories! And even more than that, I love silly stories with reference to pop culture and an unexpected twist to keep my students on their toes! Here are some great stories that fit that criteria! I wrote these to provide comprehensible input to my Spanish students, and they just so happen to all have the theme of love or betrayal in them: perfect for Valentine’s Day!
Romeo sends Julieta romantic poetry and songs he writes on Snapchat, until she breaks his heart by dating Justin Beiber.
Magdalena wants to fall in love and get married so she auditions for the Bachelor. She has seen every episode and knows that her knowledge of past seasons will help her. Or will it?
Penelope gets a DM from a boy she likes. When she excitedly shares this information with her friend, she learns that Fernando has sent love letters to everyone in her class!
